We visited Maine five years ago for my wife’s 40th Birthday and loved Portland and the surrounding neighboring towns eating lobster and seafood every day while we were there! We came across Captain Mowatt’s Boston Red Sauce at a small little retail shop and I have been using it ever since primarily at breakfast over eggs and hash browns. This is my FAVORITE hot sauce! Not overly hot but has a nice little kick to it and the perfect balance of sweetness. I use this on just about anything and it is so good. The only drawback is that you guys are so far away from Portland, OR!

This amazing spicy, slightly sweet sauce was given to my husband as sort of a gag gift. He is form Boston, so many friends/ family give him gifts from his home area, as we live in CA. He doesn’t get the chance to have the treats of Boston everyday.
I opened this one day looking to add a little kick to a family meal I was making. Boy was I surprised when I tasted it! I is truly one of my favorites of all time! I went through that bottle pretty quickly. Then felt bummed that I didn’t have it for wings I was making on game day - “go Sox!” And mentioned it to my son, seriously loves it too. He popped on his phone and found the website so I could order more. I bought 2 bottles that same day. And will continue to, as it goes with EVERYTHING!!! It is a delicious blend of spicy with hint a hint of sweet. Not vinegar with a pepper flavor. But really a fantastic hot sauce. I will be giving out as gifts this year too! Everyone who try’s it at my house loves tit.
I highly recommend get a bottle or 3, for chicken, stakes, burgers- you name it, it great!

This is a delicious hot sauce. It doesn't pack a ton of heat, but the flavor is great. The only reason this sauce doesn't get five stars from me is that I like super hots and this is very mild, but all sauces have a purpose, and this goes really well on a "Thanksgiving Sandwich", which is where I utilized a lot of it during the holidays. I would recommend this sauce to anyone that is searching for a lot of flavor, but only a slight kick of heat. It's a very tasty sauce.
